The DPA’s 2020 ProTour season ended following 14 events, with Order of Merit leader Gordon Mathers progressing to qualify for the 2020/2021 William Hill World Darts Championship.
With regulations still in place across Australia, the DPA are planning to stage their 2021 ProTour across seven regional “Bubbles”, which will each host five double-header weekends for players in their home State.
The top eight players from each State’s Order of Merit after the ten events will then progress to compete in the 64-player World Championship Qualifier, which is planned for July in Warilla.
That event will be preceded by a last-chance knockout on Thursday July 1 for the final eight places in the 64-player field.
The DPA are also planning to stage the first Youth and Women’s Oceanic Masters events in 2021, with the men’s Oceanic Masters to be staged on October 23 in Dubbo.
