Nándor Major will make his TV debut at the Poland Darts Masters in July after winning the Hungarian Qualifier to earn a spot in the World Series of Darts event.
The PDC will stage its first tournament in Poland on July 7-8, with a sold-out COS Torwar in Warsaw set to welcome 16 players.
Two spots in the field were kept open, with one to be secured by a Polish Qualifier on July 1 and the other being competed for last weekend in Hungary.
Major, a 31-year-old from Kaposvár, defeated Patrik Kovács 5-3 in the final to secure his place in the Poland Darts Masters, coming from 3-2 down with three straight legs.
Major also defeated Alberto Bezjian, Márk Honti and Gábor Agócs on his way to qualification, denying World Cup representative Kovács a further TV appearance.
Kovács’ World Cup team-mate Levente Sárai was defeated in the last 16.
Major competed in the PDC’s Qualifying School in 2020, and also took part in the Host Nation Qualifier for the 2022 Hungarian Darts Trophy, losing in the final round of qualifying.
The field for the Poland Darts Masters will now be completed on Saturday July 1 with the Polish Qualifier.
