Mindaugas Barauskas won his first ever Pro Tour on the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour this weekend, as Marko Kantele won his 10th.
A special weekend in Denmark has ended. A weekend with two Pro Tours and three European qualifications.
At the first event of the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour, we saw Jeffrey de Graaf on the tour for the first time, as well as we saw Cor Dekker back on the tour.
And both players did quite well. Cor Dekker made it all the way to the semi-finals, before he lost against Marko Kantele, and Jeffrey de Graaf went all the way to the final.
But in the final, once again it was experienced Marko Kantele who got the result, as he won the final by 6-1 and secured himself his 10th tournament victory on the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour, which is just as many as Madars Razma and Darius Labanauskas.
However, the Finn did not get that far into the tournament at the second Pro Tour, as he lost in the round of 16 against Tonni Sørensen from Denmark.
Jeffrey de Graaf also lost in the round of 16 against the later winner Mindaugas Barauskas. The Lithuanian had never got himself further than the quarter-finals at the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour, but this Sunday he went all the way.
In the final he was up against Tom Veje Kristensen. It was also the first ever final for Dane on the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour. And the final was a close one, as the match had to go all the way to the 11th and deciding leg. And as Mindaugas Barauskas managed to make a hold of throw, he could succesfully put his first ever Nordic and Baltic title to his resume.
The three european qualifiers this weekend were Dennis Nilsson, Marko Kantele and Paavy Myller, who will go to the Baltic Sea Darts Open, the European Darts Open and the International Darts Open respectively.
