In 2013 the PDC launched the World Series. In that year, the PDC sends eight top players to Dubai and Sydney to spread the sport more global. In the years that follow the cycle steadily expanded and in 2015 the World Series Finals appear on the calendar.
In 2023, the World Series of Darts will enter its eleventh year. For the first time, the tournaments will also be played in January this year. Bahrain is new on the calendar. In addition, the World Series returns to New York, Copenhagen, Wollongong and Hamilton. The World Series Finals are back in Amsterdam.
This is how the calendar looks in 2023:
12 and 13 January | Bahrain Darts Masters | Bahrain
20 and 21 January | Nordic Darts Masters | Copenhagen
2 and 3 June | U.S. Darts Masters | New York
4 and 5 August | New Zealand Darts Masters | Hamilton
11 and 12 August | New South Wales Darts Masters | Wollongong
15 – 17 September | World Series of Darts Finals | Amsterdam
The line-up for the six World Series tournaments differs per tournament. It is clear that all tournaments will be played over two days this year with the exception being the Finals which will be played over 3 days. In the first round, eight regional players compete against eight players who are invited by the PDC.
