The DPA season gets back underway at the Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club in February 2023 the 5 x super series events staying at that venue for the whole of the 2023 season.
These supersized events will happen on February 17-19, March 17-19, May 26-28, July 7-9, September 16-17 for the Pro Tour series and October 20-22, for the Oceanic Masters and other special events.
The 20 events DPA Pro Tour starts on Saturday the 18th of February but the opening night, Friday the 17th will be a NSW Darts Masters – PDC World Series of Darts Qualifier. With only one PDC event in Australia this year the competition will be hot for on stage positions, thus this qualifier should see some excellent darts kick off the season.
Saturday’s opening of the pro tour season will see the Russell Stewart Classic played out, before event 2 in the afternoon ..Sunday includes pro tour events 3 and 4. Thus the opening weekend, as with the first four weekends will have 5 events, the Friday night being NSW Darts Masters qualification tournaments for four spots on the stage at WIN Stadium Wollongong.
The weekends will be loaded with excellent darts and opportunities for new names to refine their skills and make their names on the national stage. 2023 is a year full of potential for any player willing to step up to the oche and with supersized weekends players can get their teeth into events.
With Simon Whitlock, Damon Heta, Mal Cuming and Raymond Smith doing Australia proud at the World Championships this year we look forward to the new battle for places at next year’s Worlds beginning come February.
