Damon Heta’s World Championships came to an end at the Ally Pally in the fourth round.
It was Heta’s first appearance in the fourth round. He was opposed to Scott Williams who was well behind Heta in the rankings.
In the first set Wiliams had the throw. The set went to a deciding leg. Heta missed the fat number for a 72 check out with his second dart. He had to leave 36 instead and his opponent checked out straight after.
Heta then had a much better set on throw. He won that three legs to one. He then had a dart at the bull for a check out. He missed it and was not able to get his next two set darts. Williams threw the double 12 to win the set. The match was still on throw, overall at 2-1.
Scott Williams won the next set by three legs to one. The Australian missed tops to stay in the match in the fifth leg of the next set. On his next visit Scott Williams won the game. The final score four legs to one.
Heta’s scoring was there but the doubles caused him issues. Williams just took the chances he was given.
The loss ended Australia’s representation in the 2024 PDC Darts World Championships.
