Winmau Team360 Development Tour 1-5 round-up It was another successful weekend for Team360 on the Winmau Development Tour as seven of the team descended on Milton Keynes for three days of action. Keelan Kay set the early standard by making the last 16 on the opening afternoon. Fellow Team360 member Cayden Smith was defeated in the last 64, before an 88 average was enough to get past Jitse Van de Wal in a last leg decider. Kay would meet reigning JDC World Champion, Luke Littler, in the last 16, taking ‘The Nuke’ to a decider, but ultimately losing out to the now Development Tour table topper.
Event two of the afternoon brought even more success. Kay again reached the last 16, with recent Foundation Tour winner, Riley Rees-Tucker joining him following a win over former tour card holder Ciaran Teehan. Performance of the day would be won by Connor Hopkins as he posted two ton-plus averages and a whitewash win over tour card holder and former JDC World Champion Keane Barry. The Welsh youngster would fall short against another tour card holder in the shape of Owen Roelofs.
Hopkins’ excellent form continued into event three as he went on another last 16 run. But the event would belong the Riley Rees-Tucker, making his first Development Tour quarter-final. RRT would go one better than event two after recording a 4-0 win over David Schlichting, but as in event one, Luke Littler would prove a step too far.
Cayden Smith would make his first last 64 run of the weekend in event four, with Rees-Tucker reaching the last 32. Connor Hopkins would return with a win over Keelan Kay to double his tally of last 16 appearances, though the best was yet to come. Hopkins would his first quarter-final and move himself into the top 20 on the order of merit following wins over Reece Colley and Charlie Stocks. He would push Owen Bates all the way in the last 8, narrowly losing out over eight legs.
