Dartplayers Australia have always strived to promote and create a fair, competitive tour of darts in Australia; where all players have the opportunity to play in the world’s best Darts events.
The covid crisis has been detrimental to not only the DPA but all sporting bodies around the country and the globe, travel has been impossible, and the implementation of online darts across 5 states in one of the worlds largest countries has been challenging to say the least.
We commend all players who have adjusted to these challenges to help push forward and keep darts alive.
Formats have been changed and what looks good on paper doesn’t necessarily work in the real world.
therefore after consultation with players, player management, sponsors and Tournament Directors, the DPA Executive committee believes that a restructure of our tour is needed.
It is therefore our decision that the DPA will revert to the following format for the remainder of the 2022 Winmau Pro Tour
Tour Cards have been suspended; all Players that have already purchased a card for 2022 will be fully refunded in the upcoming days.
Entry fees will be reduced to $25 per day; online entries will continue to be the way to nominate for any events.
DPA will revert to Straight knockout events on a Friday afternoon. And will continue with Round robin to knockout events on Saturday and Sunday.
Live Streaming on PDCTV and DartStream Live will also continue for in house games; there will be no inter-venue play; everything will remain in venue.
We sincerely appreciate the input of all those who have provided feedback and thank you for your patience at this time.
Full details of the upcoming events, including online entry, will be available via the DPA site shortly
