Top-class darts is to return to Wolverhampton following confirmation that the Cazoo Grand Slam of Darts will be held at the Aldersley Leisure Village from November 13-21.
Wolverhampton has traditionally held the nine-day, 32-player tournament, with the Wolves Civic hosting the Grand Slam from its inception in 2006 before the move to the Aldersley Leisure Village in 2018.
However, last year’s event was forced to be held behind closed doors in Coventry due to the coronavirus pandemic, when Jose de Sousa took victory in his debut in the Grand Slam.
The Portuguese star will, though, defend his Grand Slam title in Wolverhampton in November, with tickets for this year’s event set to go on sale during August.
“The Cazoo Grand Slam of Darts is synonymous with Wolverhampton and it’s brilliant that we can return to the city this November,” said PDC chief executive Matt Porter.
“The Aldersley Leisure Village proved popular with fans in 2018 and 2019, and it’s a venue which has brought the best out of many players – including back-to-back champion Gerwyn Price!”
